Trauma

Trauma can be a life-altering experience, leaving deep emotional scars that can impact us in various ways. It can stem from a single, shocking event like an accident or assault, or from repeated experiences of abuse, neglect, or bullying.

It is a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. However, the effects of trauma can linger, manifesting as:

  • Flashbacks – Vivid memories or nightmares that transport you back to the traumatic event.

  • Anxiety and hypervigilance – Feeling constantly on edge, easily startled, and struggling to feel safe.

  • Depression and emotional detachment – Feeling numb, withdrawn, or losing interest in activities you once enjoyed.

  • Physical symptoms – Fatigue, headaches, muscle tension, gut issues, unexplained pain, or sleep disturbances,

These are just some of the ways trauma can show itself. Using a variety of methods and tools such as IFS, bodywork, mindfullness and somatic work I aim to help clients work though their traumas reaching a place of better understanding and inner contentment. If you're struggling with any of the symptoms above, it's important to know that healing is possible.

“Trauma comes back as a reaction, not as a memory.”
